Accused BCL men get anticipatory bail
Four Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Rajshahi University unit leaders, accused of assaulting the university correspondent of The Daily Star Arafat Rahaman, got anticipatory bail on Thursday, confirmed police yesterday.

On July 10, Vice President of BCL RU unit Ahmed Sajib, its Organising Secretary Abid Ahsan Labon, Law Affairs Secretary Saiful Islam Bijoy, and Information and Research Secretary Mahamudur Rahman Kanon along with some10 activists beat up second-year mass communication and journalism student Arafat, 21, near the main entrance to the university while he was taking photographs with his mobile phone of a bus vandalised by BCL men.
On that night, Arafat filed an attempt to murder case accusing the four leaders and 10 unnamed people.
