Abdur Razzaq remembered on death anniversary
Abdur Razzaq, a veteran leader of Awami League, will be remembered for his contribution towards country's liberation and politics, speakers said at a memorial discussion yesterday.
A leading organiser of Liberation War in 1971 took part in different national movements at his student life, and contributed to bring war criminals to justice, they said.
Abdur Razzaq Smriti Sangsad and Foundation organised the discussion at Teacher Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University in the capital marking his sixth death anniversary.
The Foundation President Prof Abdul Mannan Choudhury, who was a close companion of Razzaq, said his memories will remain alive in the hearts of the people and his contributions will never be forgotten.
“We are very thankful to him for his efforts to bring the war criminals to justice, although he died before the criminals were punished,” said Prof Mannan, also the vice-chancellor of World University of Bangladesh.
Mujahidul Islam Selim, and Prof Muhammad Samad also spoke among others.
