5 to die for killing photojournalist Aftab
Five people including a driver were sentenced to death today for killing photojournalist Aftab Ahmed, recipient of the Ekushey Padak in 2006, four years back.
The court also jailed a man for seven years for his involvement with the killing.

The 79-year-old photojournalist was found dead at his residence in the Dhaka's West Rampura on December 25 in 2013.
The condemned convicts are Humayun Kabir, 32, the driver of Aftab’s car, Billal Hossain, 35, Habib Howlader, 21, Raju Munshi, 22, and Rassel.
Among the convicts, Raju and Russel are absconding and rest was present at the court during the delivery of the verdict.
Hailing from Mohipur village in Rangpur, Aftab joined as a photographer of Bangla daily Ittefaq in 1962. He captured some images of the 1971 Liberation War and Bangabandhu Sheikh Majibur Rahman.
He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2006. On December 16, 2010, miscreants took away his award and other valuables from his house.
