4 including schoolboy killed in road accidents
Four people including a school boy was killed in road accidents in four districts yesterday and on Saturday.
In Kishoreganj, a school boy was killed as a truck ran him over on the Kishoreganj-Bhatia road in Ouachita area of Katiadi upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased Zakir Hossain, 14, son of Handful Islam of Turbo Batavia village was an eight-grader of Aachmita Adarsha High School.
The incident occurred while he was returning home from school.
Zakir with serious injuries was rushed to Kishoreganj General Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said police.
In Tangail Sadar, a college student was killed as an earth-laden truck rammed his bicycle in Barchanda area yesterday.
The deceased Subrata Mondol, 17, of Gala village, was a first-year student of Telecommunication of Tangail Polytechnic Institute. He was returning home from college.
Subrata succumbed to his injuries on the way to Tangail General Hospital.
In Moulvibazar, a union parishad member was killed as an auto-rickshaw carrying him collided head-on with a pickup van in Maniksingh area of Juri upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased Fayzur Rahman Fazlu, 50, was a ward member of Talimpur union under Borolekha upazila.
In Manikganj, a man was killed as a truck hit him on a ferry on Paturia-Daulatdia ferry route yesterday.
The deceased was Saddam Hossain, 30, of Kharua village in the district. He along with others was going to Faridpur in a bus.
Officials of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) said Saddam was standing near the truck on the ferry Kopoty. He died on the spot.
