3-tier security in capital’s cattle markets
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken three-tier security arrangements for the city's 23 cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia at a meeting yesterday directed its officials to escort cattle traders to carry money, identify fake notes and stop rawhide smuggling.
“If anyone tries to stop a cattle-laden truck before reaching its destination, legal actions would be taken against them,” said the commissioner.
He suggested the cattle traders to make their transactions through bank accounts.
A police control room, a watch tower and a sufficient number of CCTV cameras will be installed at each cattle market.
