294 workers die from Jan to Mar
A total of 294 workers died across Bangladesh and another 101 dangerously injured in the first three months of 2017, a report released today said.
Among them, 68 were employed in organisations and the remaining were not, the report released in a discussion on national occupational health and safety day.
The event was jointly organised by Debate for Democracy and Bangladesh Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Foundation at The Daily Star Centre.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Md Mojibul Haque presided over the programme as chief guest. Debate for Democracy Chairman Hassan Ahmed Chowdhury was also present.
