20 hurt as bus driver loses control in Dhaka
More than 20 people were injured when the driver of a bus lost his control over steering and smashed more than five vehicles at Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue in Dhaka today.
According to the passengers, the driver of a bus of route number 8 lost control over steering after passing the signal near Hotel Inter Continental. The driver finally stopped the bus in front of Walso Tower ahead of Bangla Motor signal.
At least 20 people were injured and more than three private cars, a pickup van and a motorbike were damaged in the meantime, reports our staff correspondent, who was on one of the nearby vehicles during the incident.
Later, pedestrians caught the conductor of the bus and handed him over to the police. The driver, however, managed to flee the spot.
