2 fourth graders ‘raped’ in Jatrabari
Two fourth graders were reportedly “raped” in Jatrabari of Dhaka last night.
The victims -- aged between 10 and 11 -- were admitted to One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said Sub-Inspector Bacchu Miah, in-charge of the hospital police outpost.
They are cousins and also students of a local primary school, the SI said.
Local youths – Rifat, Rabbi, Yasin and Zahid -- allegedly picked the girls up and took them to an under construction building in Nabinbagh area of Mir Hazirbagh around 10:00pm and “violated” them, the SI said quoting the victims.
The girls were returning home after attending a function when the incident took place.
Informed by locals, police rescued the duo and also managed to arrest Yasin, Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station, told The Daily Star.
