Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Dhaka last night on a three-day visit to Bangladesh.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali received him at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Wang Yi's visit is considered as another step towards further boosting the bilateral ties between the two countries.
The bilateral talks between the two countries, led by the two foreign ministers, will start at 10:00am at the foreign ministry.
The two countries will discuss programmes to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and China in 2015 in a befitting manner, by jointly organising various events and activities throughout the year.
Wang Yi will also meet President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during his visit.
Yi's current Dhaka visit is part of his two-nation south Asia tour that also took him to Nepal.
