The cabinet today again strongly condemned the indiscriminate killings of a huge number of innocent Palestinian people, including women and children, in Gaza Strip by Israeli air-strikes and land drives over the last one month.
The cabinet came up with the condemnation during its regular weekly meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Apart from demanding an immediate end to the Israeli attacks and killings on the innocent Palestinian people, the cabinet also called for restoring the just rights of the people of Palestine.
In keeping with Bangladesh's firm stance on Palestine, the cabinet directed the Foreign Ministry to take necessary diplomatic steps in this regard.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said that the Cabinet noted it as very unfortunate and contradictory as the Israel unleashed such attacks this year which is being observed as International Year of Solidarity with the Palestine People.
Terming the killings in the Palestine territory as a serious violation of human rights, the cabinet noted that the indiscriminate killings especially the women and children are very much condemnable.
Earlier, on July 14, the Cabinet first strongly condemned the indiscriminate killings of innocent Palestine people in Gaza Strip.
The cabinet again today (Monday) expressed Bangladesh's solidarity with the people of Palestine as well as its unequivocal support to the just demands and rights of the Palestinian people, saying that this support will continue in the future as well.
Ministers and state ministers attended the meeting while the secretaries concerned were present.
