Country’s largest private sector expo “BASIS SOFTEXPO 2017” ended in the capital this Saturday with the slogan “Future in Motion”. Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), leading trade body of the sector, hosted this IT and ITES Expo showcasing the best and brightest Bangladesh has to offer at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC). The event was officially launched in the morning of February 1, 2017 at Celebrity Hall at BICC. The Expo was inaugurated by speaker of the National Parliament Dr. Shirin Sharmin Choudhury as the Chief Guest. Planning Minister Mr. A H M Mustafa Kamal and ICT State Minister Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak were the Special Guests of the Programme. BASIS President Mr. Mustafa Jabbar presided over the programme while Ms. Sonia Bashir Kabir, Director of BASIS and Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh Limited and Mr. Syed Almas Kabir, Director of BASIS and Convener of BASIS SOFTEXPO 2017 were also present in the programme. The expo ended with the BASIS Leadership Meet where leaders of the industry engaged in dialogue with the policymakers to brand Bangladesh for $5 Billion ICT export by 2021.
