[WATCH] Self-powered Swiss hang glider flies at 80mph
A Swiss tech firm has built an aircraft that functions as a hang glider flying at a maximum speed of 80mph.
Ruppert Composite manufactured the glider which is a technological wonder, Tech Insider reports in a video.
The private aircraft, named Archaeopteryx, is self-powered and there is no need to wing it.
The personal glider has an enclosed cockpit made of carbon fibre, making it strong but lightweight.
Riders can take off by running like a typical hang glider. Once airborne, the riders can pull their legs up into the cockpit and enjoy the ride. The glider is operated by a control stick and foot pedals.
With a wingspan of 45-feet, it can travel with up to 80mph speed. It can land either on its wheels or the rider can make a running landing.
The glider seems like an easy way for those who would like to become frequent flier.
