ACM-ICPC Asia regional contest held in Dhaka
ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC) is an annual multi-tiered competitive programming competition among the universities of the world. Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of Asia Pacific (UAP) hosted this year's Regional Final of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) at UAP city campus. The inauguration ceremony took place on Friday, November 18 and the prize giving and closing Ceremony took place on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor, UAP was the Asia Dhaka Regional Contest Director and Dr. Bilkis Jamal Ferdosi, Associate Professor & Head, CSE is the Program Coordinator of this year's event.
The competition is held in two rounds: online preliminary contest and onsite contest. A total of 1,665 teams were registered for the online preliminary contest. Among them, these 1,566 teams from 81 institutes had participated on October 15, 2016. This year all-Girls' team participation was record high - a total of 129 teams. A total of 125 teams competed for the onsite contest to be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
