BASIS urges to implement dot Bangla top level domain (TLD)

Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS) met with Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) and Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) at BASIS Conference Room. BASIS President Shameem Ahsan presided over the meeting and it was decided that BASIS will work in coordination and in collaboration with APNIC and ICANN with regards to Network administration training in software development. Also, BASIS has urged ICANN to implement dot Bangla (TLD) as early as possible. BASIS have also discussed with APNIC and ICANN to provide training and Awareness in collaboration with BASIS Institute of Technology Management (BTM) in regards to the IPV6 model to make the programmers in Bangladesh adapt to IPV6.

 

 

 

Chittagong Holds Women Mozilla Tech Fest

The port city holds the tech based event “Women Mozilla Tech Fest”. The event was a joint initiative of the Firefox Clubs of Chittagong, alongside Mozilla Bangladesh and Independent University Chittagong.  Teachers from 18 different districts of different colleges, universities and other institutes participated in this event held at the campus of Independent University Chittagong. The special initiative Women Mozilla “WOMEZ” managed by the women working in Mozilla holds different sorts of tech events internationally. The event was a part of the different international events, undertaken by “WOMEZ”, specially organized for the women.
