Buzzing handicrafts fair in Mymensingh
A 15-day handicrafts fair organised at the Town Hall by Mymensingh District Women Entrepreneurs Development Forum, is the latest attraction in the town.
The handicraft products include Nakshikantha, saris, three-piece outfits, punjabi and fatua, to name just a few.
Talking to this correspondent, Shaila Nasreen, assistant professor of a non-government college said that while machine-made attire flood the market, handicrafts are exquisite and should be preserved.
Nurun Nahar, proprietor of Sarah Handicrafts and Training Center, said the products available at the fair are sourced from handicraft houses of Mymensingh.
Earlier, Mustakim Billah Faruqui, Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh inaugurated the fair as chief guest. Ekramul Haque Titu, mayor of Mymensingh municipality addressed the opening session, among others. The fair ends today.
