Transcom Electronics partners with Chinese appliance giant Midea
Transcom Electronics Ltd, a leading retailer, yesterday formed a partnership with Midea Group, the world's largest consumer appliance maker, to distribute the Chinese company's high capacity industrial air conditioners across the country.
The two companies announced the new development at a programme at Le Méridien Dhaka.
“We are honoured to be partnered with Midea,” said Yeamin Sharif Chowdhury, head of business at Transcom Electronics.
“This partnership will broaden the range of our business and will help us serve our clients with high-quality HVAC products of Midea. We are looking forward to achieve greater success together.”
Midea has been doing business in Bangladesh since 2008 and has now teamed up with Transcom Electronics, said Simen Wang, a manager for the Asia Pacific of the Guangdong-based company.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Bangladesh's famous brand Transcom Electronics,” he said, adding that the partnership will contribute to a great and delightful journey for customers. Chowdhury said the motto of Transcom Electronics has always been bringing in the best quality electronics and appliances from famous brands to Bangladesh and provide the best customer service.
As a result, the local company has gained tremendous business success with Samsung, Hitachi, Philips, Panasonic, Whirlpool, Daikin and Transtec, he added.
“We have added a new name to the list now,” Chowdhury said, referring to the global company which is operating in more than 200 countries.
Arshad Huq, chief operating officer of Transcom Electronics, and Alex Zhou, brand manager for Latin America, Asia and the Pacific of Midea CAC Overseas Sales Company, also attended the event.
Transcom Electronics has established itself as the largest premium electronic retailer of Bangladesh after starting journey in 2003.
Sales of branded products coupling with manufacturers' warranty and after-sales customer service have made the company a trusted name in the electronics and home appliances segment, according to officials of the company.
