Part of Dhaka city out of telecom services
Eastern part of Dhaka went out of telecommunication connectivity since last week as Wasa cut down some important fiber optic cables of the state-owned telecommunication company.
The affected areas are Shahjahanpur, Shahidbagh, Malibagh, Kamalapur, Nandipara, Madartek and Goran.
On June 23, Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) cut down some important fiber optic cables at Madartek and Goran of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) while running their development work, said a BTCL statement today.
Earlier, another fiber cable under Moghbazar-Khilgaon flyover constructions area was seriously affected on June 10, the statement also reads.
Both the incidents made more than 2,100 BTCL telephone connections out of service, said the statement signed by Mir Mohammed Morshed, director of the state-owned company.
It has also affected internet business of that respected areas who are internet subscribers of BTCL.
The company also said sorry for the inconvenience of their customers.
