ICAB organises student summit
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) organised a summit yesterday to encourage students to build career in chartered accountancy.
The summit with the theme of “Chartered accountancy: pathway to business leadership” took place at the Senamalancha in Dhaka.
The aim of the gathering was to show how the CA profession can be a great career path to be a successful business leader, Adeeb Hossain Khan, ICAB president, said at the opening of the summit.
Some 450 students from public and private universities as well as successful members of the ICAB who are heading different corporate houses and businesses also participated in the event.
Vice chancellors, deans and chairmen of business departments of different universities, ICAB council members and past presidents were also present.
Mostafa Kamal, vice-president of the ICAB, discussed CA education at the programme while Mahmudul Hasan Khusru, chairman of the summit organising committee, also spoke.
Among the successful chartered accountants, Ahmed Raihan Shamsi, CEO of Accenture CIS Ltd and managing director for communications, media and technology of ASEAN, Akhter Matin Chaudhury, chairman and managing director of Nuvista Pharma Ltd, and Parveen Mahmud, a former president of the ICAB and managing director of Grameen Telecom Trust, shed light on their career.
