Ctg trade fair begins today
The Chittagong International Trade Fair (CITF) will begin today on the Railway Pologround in the port city to promote domestic products at home and abroad.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will open the month-long fair to be organised by Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
CCCI President Mahbubul Alam called for a permanent venue for the annual fair, like the one in Dhaka, so it can be hosted at a specified time. CCCI Senior Vice President Nurun Newaj Salim said the fair spawning on around four lakh square feet this year will have 35 different pavilions and 234 booths.
“Thailand will be the partner country of the fair while Mauritius is participating for the first time. India and Iran are also taking part in the event.”
The fair will remain open from 10am to 10pm every day and the ticket price has been fixed at Tk 10.
CCCI directors Mahfuzul Hoque Shah and Mazharul Islam Chowdhury were also present.
