Govt won’t publish BB heist probe report ‘now’
Retracting from a previous position, Bangladesh government today said it will not be publishing "now" the probe report on US$101 million heist from central bank's reserve in New York.

"More time is needed to publish it," Finance Minister AMA Muhith said today – a report he had said would be published by the end of this week, more specifically Thursday.

While talking to journalists at the Secretariat, Muhith said publication of the report now "will upset the initiatives taken to bring back the stolen money".
Muhith is optimistic on recovering most of money stolen by hackers, adding that the president of the Philippines assured that he will not visit Bangladesh until he is able to send it back.

A three-member government-formed committee, led by former Bangladesh Bank governor Mohammed Farashuddin, submitted the report to the finance ministry on April 30, 2016.
The committee was formed in March, almost one month after the government had learnt that the money was stolen by hackers.
