Indian Border Security Force (BSF) picked up two youths from two border points in Thakurgaon and Jhenidah districts early yesterday.
BSF members detained a Bangladeshi national near Nagorvita border in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon early yesterday while he was returning home from India with phensidyl.
The youth was identified as Mofizuddin, 26, son of late Abdul Malek of Baniabosti village in the same upazila, reports our correspondent.
Commanding Officer of 30, Thakurgaon Border Guard Battalion told this correspondent over cell phone a patrol team of BSF Tingaon camp picked up the youth half a kilometre inside Indian territory at about 9:30pm.
BGB sent a letter to BSF asking it to return the Bangladeshi national.
Later, a Company Commander-level flag meeting was held between the two border guards at 4:00pm.
At the meeting, the BSF said that the Bangladeshi was caught with 166 bottles of phensidyl and later handed over to Goalpukur police station in Uttar Dinajpur district of Paschimbanga.
Our Jhenidah Correspondent adds: BSF arrested a Bangladeshi cattle trader inside Indian territory yesterday.
The arrestee is Tufan Mondol, 20 son of Enamul Haq Ena of Baghadanga village under Moheshpur upazila of the district.
Lt Col SM Moniruzzaman of 6 Border Guard Battalion said, around 5:00am Tufan entered Indian territory. When he reached Sardarpara under Hashkhali police station, BSF men of Bornobaria camp arrested Tufan.
Later a flag meeting was held. At the meeting, the Indian company commander said that Tufan was arrested with five cattle under Dhantala police station.
