BSF kills Bangladeshi on Jhenidah frontier
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) gunned down a Bangladeshi cattle trader as he entered the Indian territory last night at Kushumpur frontier in Jhenidah.
The deceased was identified as Jiarul Islam, 25, a resident of Dhankhola village at Jibon Nagar upazila in Chuadanga, reports our Jhenidah correspondent.
Company Commander Saiful Islam of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Kushumpur said that Jiarul, along with few others, went into India for purchasing cattle crossing Kushumpur border near pillar No. 61/18 around 9:30pm.
BSF members chased and open fire at them as they reached near Nonaganj BSF camp inside of India, the official added.
Jiarul sustained bullet injuries and died on the spot while others managed to flee, he said.
BSF returned the body around 11:00pm as BGB sent a letter asking to return the body immediately, the commander added.
