Brahmanbaria bKash agent stabbed, mugged

Muggers stabbed a bKash sale representative and snatched away Tk 6.5 lakh in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila this morning.

Ataur Rahman Junayad, 25, was whisked off to Labaid Hospital in Brahmanbaria, reports our district correspondent.

Two muggers on a motorcycle intercepted bKash sales representatives Junayad and Musa Lashari near Niaz Mahmmud Stadium when they were going to Kawtoli area from their Masjid Road office around 10:15am.

The miscreants stabbed Junayad and snatched away Tk 6.5 lakh, which the representatives were carrying with them, our correspondent reports quoting Lashari.

Locals rescued Junayad and sent him to the Sadar Hospital but the doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital as his condition deteriorated. Later, Junayad was shifted to the Labaid Hospital.

Confirming the incident, Sub-inspector Ishtiaque Ahmed, also the second officer of Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station, told The Daily Star that he has visited Junayad and recorded his statement.
