BNP to bring out black-flag processions
The BNP-led 19-party alliance will bring out black-flag processions in every ward of the capital tomorrow if the combine does not get permission for its scheduled black flag procession in Nayapaltan.
Assaduzzaman Ripon, International Affairs Secretary and now spokesperson of the party today announced the programmes at a press conference at party central office in Nayapaltan.
"Now its 6:00pm, but still we don’t get permission for our black-flag procession scheduled for tomorrow," Ripon said adding that the combine will bring out black-flag processions in all the wards of the capital if they do not get permission finally.
Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police told The Daily Star that police did not give permission to BNP to bring out the procession.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on January 15 announced fresh programmes to get public support and boost movement against what she termed the "Awami League-led illegal government".
The programme includes black-flag processions across the country on January 29 to protest "the killing of democracy and keeping people away from their voting rights".
