BNP lifts expulsion order on 2 ex-JCD leaders
BNP withdrew its expulsion order on Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal’s former vice-president Abu Sayeed and ex-organising secretary Anisur Rahman Talukder Khokan today.
“The expulsion order on the duo has been withdrawn in line with the direction of the party chairman,” said a press release signed by Asadul Karim Shahin, joint office secretary of BNP.
They were expelled from the BNP’s student wing on November 10 on charge of breaching party discipline for their role in staging protests against Chhatra Dal’s new committee.
The action was taken against the rebel JCD leaders nearly 20 days after their weeklong demonstrations against the new JCD central committee formed on October 14 with Rajib Ahsan and Akramul Hasan as president and general secretary.
A group of dissident and deprived JCD leaders and activists started demonstrating in front of the Nayapaltan office the following day demanding that the new body of the student organisation be dissolved calling it an ‘incompetent and pocket committee’.
