BNP is a platform of evil forces: Ashraf
Ruling Awami League spokesman and LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam today alleged that BNP is not any political party, rather it is a platform of evil forces.
"BNP is an extreme evil force and we all have to resist this force for the existence of Bangladesh and there would be no compromise in this regard," he said while addressing a discussion marking the National Mourning Day.
Awami Jubo League, youth front of AL, organised the discussion in front of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh with Jubo League Chairman Omar Faroque Chowdhury in the chair.
Syed Ashraf lambasted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for celebrating her birthday on August 15 -- the day when Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members were assassinated in 1975 – and said by doing this Khaleda proved that she has yet to accept the country's independence and would not do it in future.
"Khaleda Zia has declared a war against the creation of Bangladesh, but we have to face them with iron hands," he said, calling upon his party men to remain united and make the organisation strengthen to meet the challenge.
About Khaleda's birthday, the AL general secretary said she expressed her utmost hatred to the father of the nation Bangabandhu by celebrating her 'false' birthday with cutting cake.
"The nation was divided by the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1975. We tried to unite the nation several times for political purposes, but Khaleda Zia denied us every time as she wants to divide the nation," he added.
Jubo League General Secretary Harunur Rashid conducted the discussion.
