BNP incapable of staging movement: Tofail
BNP is now not in a state of waging movement even on a single issue, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said today.
“BNP along with Jamaat tried to foil January 5 election. But it was a failed attempt. This kind of movement will never be successful,” the minister said.
Tofail was talking to reporters after paying homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait at Bangabandhu Museum in Dhanmondi of the capital on the occasion of his 94th birth anniversary.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is expecting an early election under a non-party caretaker government when the incumbent cabinet has been formed for the five-year tenure, the minister said.
“Dialogue (for holding an acceptable election) will continue, but the next polls will be held after the government completes its tenure,” he said.
