BNP calls hartal in Sylhet for Sunday
BNP will enforce a dawn-to-dusk hartal across the Sylhet district including the city on Sunday protesting arrest of the party’s Vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury.
Sylhet is the home district of Chowdhury who was placed on a five-day remand today in the Bakshibazar violence case hours into his arrest from his Old DOHS residence in Banani last night.
Badruzzaman Selim, BNP’s city unit member secretary, confirmed the shutdown to our Sylhet correspondent today.
He said they took the decision at joint meeting of the city and district unit committees of the BNP today.
