BGB rescues 34 at Benapole frontier
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive rescued 34 people, including 10 women and three children, from Putkhali border in Jessore this morning while being trafficked to India.
The rescued people are hailed from Bagerhat, Narail and Gopalganj districts.
Being tipped off, a BGB team conducted a drive in the border and rescued them while they were being trafficked to the neighbouring country, said Lt Col Abdur Rahim, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-23.
Later, the rescued people were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station for legal action.
A case was filed in this connection.
