Since its inception in 2006, Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel’s famous all-day dining restaurant, the Water Garden Brasserie, has been one of the prime dining locations of Dhaka. Set in the upper level of the beautifully decorated hotel, the Water Garden Brasserie provides a truly elegant ambiance for diners who are looking for that extra pizzazz on a special occasion or a much-needed group outing.
The Brasserie has now updated their buffet menu, increasing the varieties available to diners greatly, and the menu changes everyday. You can start with a glass of freshly squeezed juice, an exotic bowl of soup and choose from the five-six kinds of bread baked in the restaurant’s own kitchen. There are about 50 different types of salads and condiments, using both foreign and local ingredients. There is also a fresh salad station for those who want to create their own salads.
The hot food station also provides a lot of choices, from stir fries to pan fries, curries, pasta, vegetable dishes and so on. Some popular items are their beef quesadillas, Goan fish curry, garlic prawns and beef and mushroom stir fry. There is a carving station which usually houses prime beef or lamb imported from Australia.
Radisson has always been renowned for its desserts, and the buffet dessert menu definitely lives up to expectations. There are a number of different types of cakes, fresh fruits, and foreign and local desserts available. The restaurant also makes its own ice cream in many different flavours. A few examples of their extraordinary desserts are crème shanty, pithiviers, velvet cake, carrot paesh, khaliha nahal, coconut ager ager and banana pitha. I myself encountered a lot of desserts that I have never even heard of before, which was great because the beauty of an all-you-can-eat experience is that you can try everything out!
In addition, there are some live cooking stations where guests can watch chefs create dishes right then, such as different types of noodle dishes, stir fries, tempuras, and not to mention the freshly made crepes in the dessert section. The items available in the live cooking stations also change regularly.
The Water Garden Brasserie buffet menu has been improved over the years based on feedback from regular customers and in-house guests in order to take into account all the much-loved, popular items. Having been to the same restaurant a few times since it started out, I can see that the choices available have increased immensely. The best thing about Radisson’s buffet menu has to be the variety available. So the next time you are really hungry, or there is a special occasion, and you want to dine out somewhere elegant but can’t decide where, the Water Garden Brasserie is just the place to be. You can be assured that everyone in your group will love something on the menu.
