President Abdul Hamid Friday expressed profound shock and sorrow at death of one of the most celebrated Bengali film actors Anwar Hossain.
In a message of condolence, the President said Anwar Hossain was a versatile actor and popularly known as the ‘Crownless Emperor’ of the blue screen of Bengali film industry.
The death of the legend actor and patriotic cultural activist is a great loss for the country’s film industry, the President observed.
The President prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to members of the bereaved family of the National Film Award recipient actor.
Anwar Hossain, who is best remembered for his iconic role in “Nawab Sirajuddaula”, died last night at the age of 82.
