Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Dhaka for Thailand on Sunday morning on a three-day official visit to attend the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit in Chiang Mai on May 19-20.
The premier is leading a 35-member delegation that includes Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, Water Resources Minister Ramesh Chandra Sen and Ambassador at-large M Ziauddin.
Thai Deputy Prime Minister Dr Plodprasop Suraswadi will make the introductory remarks and summary of technical workshops/focus area sessions while Thai Premier Yingluck Shinawatra is to make the opening remarks and keynote address on `Disaster and Response : Thailand’s Action and Commitment to Water and Flood Management for the Future’.
President of the 67th Session of the UNGA Vuk Jeremic will make the keynote address.
Hasina will then have a bilateral meeting with her Thai counterpart.
After wrapping up her three-day trip, the prime minister will leave Chiang Mai on Tuesday morning for Dhaka by a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
