Terming recent political killings as stray incidents, Home Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir said that most of the killings were outcome of internal feud.
“The government is definitely concerned, but not panicked,” the minister told reporters after emerging from an inter-ministerial meeting on law and order at the Secretariat in the capital.
Commenting on the BNP’s ongoing movement for restoration of caretaker government, the minister said BNP has no power to create any anarchy in the country.
“But if they still try, we will resist them with our utmost power and prove that nobody has the right to create anarchy on the soil of Bangladesh,” he said.
Regarding the trend of demonstration by garments workers demanding salary hike and Eid bonus, the government decided to hold talks with different stakeholders to take measures so that the workers cannot wage any movement over the demands, meeting sources said.
Labour and Employment Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Rajuand Posts and Telecommunications Minister Sahara Khatun attended the meeting.
