Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury has said that the door is still open for Opposition Leader Khaleda Zia for holding discussion about the polls-time government with the government.
“We are still optimistic about reaching a solution through dialogue”, Matia, also an AL presidium member, said at a press conference at the Awami League president’s political office in Dhanmondi in the afternoon.
The discussion would be held on the basis of the Constitution, she added.
Replying to a query the AL leader said the polls-time government would be formed as per Hasina’s all-party proposal.
“We will take all kinds of initiatives to implement the all-party election-time government,” the minister said.
Earlier on Saturday, in response to an ultimatum given by Khaleda, the premier had invited the opposition leader to the Gono Bhaban on 28 October over the much talked-about election-time government.
Khaleda during the phone talks expressed her inability to receive the invitation due to the 18-party opposition’s 60-hour hartal which started today.
