Bogra district chapter of BNP has extended its 36-hour countrywide shutdown (hartal) by 12 hours.
BNP has called a countrywide 36-hour hartal from 6:00am Tuesday in protest of sending eight of its central leaders to jail on Sunday.
The shutdown will be observed for 48 hours in Bogra, starting from 6:00pm Monday, reports our Bogra correspondent.
Bogra district BNP President VP Saiful announced it after an emergency meeting Monday noon.
Saiful said district BNP decided to extend the shutdown in the district to protest the arrest of BNP’s central leaders.
BNP’s shutdown will began in the district just after the end of the countrywide 12-hour hartal of Hefajat-e Islam.
