Miscreants shot dead Rustam Ali Akanda, 22, joint secretary of the Suhrawardi Hall BCL unit committee, this afternoon, ABM Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station, told our RU correspondent.

The attackers shot Akanda around 1:30pm, a fourth-year student of political science department, when he was sleeping in his room no 230 of the hall, the correspondent said quoting sources.

Duty doctors at the Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital declared him dead after he was rushed there.

Demanding immediate punishment of the killers, shocked Ali, said he was passing his day through hardship to bear the expenditures of his son to accomplish higher education.
