Bank official among 3 abducted in Cox's Bazar

Armed miscreants abducted three people including a Krishi Bank official from Ramu upazila of Cox's Bazar last night.

A joint force of Border Guard Bangladesh and police are conducting a raid at Eitgarh in the upazila to rescue the three till this noon when the report was filed, said Saikul Ahmed Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of local police station.

Two of the abductees are: Jitendra Kishur Deb, 46, and Mahbubur Rahman, 28. The name of another person could not be known immediately.

Jitendra is a cashier of Baishari branch of Krishi Bank in Naikkhangchhari upazila of Bandarban and Mahbubur is a easy bike driver, report our Cox's Bazar and Bandarban correspondents.

Locals suspect that another abductee is a staff of a rubber garden at Baishari, OC Saikul said.   

A gang of armed robbers intercepted a bus carrying the three at Bhendarpar Mukh near Eitgarh around 9:30pm and picked them up, the OC said.

All the passengers but the three got down from the bus at different places before the vehicle came under the attack, he added. 

The bus was heading to Baishari area from Eidgaon of Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila.
