Bangladeshi shot by BSF
A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Bonchwki frontier in Hatibandha upazila early yesterday.
The injured is Ali Sabur, 34, of Bonchowki village. He was admitted to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital, said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources.
A patrol team of BSF opened fire on a group of six to seven cattle traders when they were crossing the border area with Indian cattle.
Ali sustained bullet injuries in his leg during the firing, said commanding officer of Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalion Lt Col Shafiul Alam Khan.
They sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident, said the officer.
