Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Shongstha's elaborate programmes
Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Shongstha has been working to promote dancing as an art since its inception. The organisation has taken initiatives to conduct dance workshop and Bulbul Fair in six divisional towns of the country to mark the birth anniversary of Natycharya Bulbul Chowhury. Like the previous years, this year Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has joined hands with Nritya Shilpi Shongstha to celebrate the day. The workshop, which began on February 11, is taking place simultaneously in six divisional towns and will end tomorrow. Dance exponents from Dhaka are imparting lessons to the participants on Monipuri, Lokonritya, Kathak, Bharat Natyam and other dance forms as part of the workshop. On February 14, the participants will celebrate dance festival in six towns in remembrance of Natyacharya Bulbul Chowdhury.
In addition, a seven-day workshop on Charyapada dance will take place next month. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Nritya Shilpi Shongstha has jointly taken the initiative. Moreover, Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Shongstha has taken elaborate programmes on April 29 to celebrate International Dance Day. Apart from this, the organisation, in association with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy will arrange a seven-day dance festival in June. Minu Haque, president of Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Shongstha expressed the hope that the initiatives will encourage the young generations and help spread dance throughout the country.
