Bangladesh in semis of SAFF Women’s Championship
Bangladesh reached the semi-final of the 3rd SAFF Women’s Championship 2014, by defeating Maldives 3-0 in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Bangladeshi women will play against Nepal in the semi-final on November 19.
Earlier, two times champion India defeated Afghanistan 12-0 to reach the semis where they will meet Sri Lanka on November 19.
The 2014 SAFF Women’s Championship is an association football tournament for women’s national teams organized by the South Asian Football Federation. It is the third edition of the tournament since the first one in 2010.
The competition is contested by the 8 SAFF members Women’s National football Teams and India are the reigning champions.
Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad hosts all the matches of 3rd SAFF Women’s championship 2014. It has the capacity of 48,000 people. Although entry to all games was free there were very few local spectators.
