Attack on Netrakona MP outside DMCH
Miscreants attacked Chhabi Biswas, the lawmaker from Netrakona-1 constituency, and set fire to his microbus in front of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Biswas, who suffered head injuries during the attack, was receiving treatment at the emergency unit of the DMCH till 2:00pm when the report was filed.
“Miscreants torched my vehicle. I’ve received head injuries,” Biswas, a lawmaker from ruling Awami League, told reporters.
The lawmaker took a patient for medical check-up at the hospital this afternoon.
But he decided to leave the hospital after he heard about the clash going on between BNP activists and law enforcers in Bakshibazar that time.
As he went out of the hospital, a gang wielding sticks attacked him and also set his microbus on fire.
BNP activists clashed with the law enforcers outside a makeshift court at Bakshibazar when it was holding hearing in two graft cases against the party chief Khaleda Zia in her presence.
