Theatre's “Baramkhana” to be staged today
Secularism is the basic foundation of Lalon's philosophy. But under the continuous onslaught of religion, politics and business, isn't his philosophy being torn apart from its roots?
Many questions like this have been raised in the play "Baramkhana" written by Pantho Shahriar and directed by Tropa Majumder. Based on Sunil Ganguly's famous novel "Moner Maanush", the 32nd staging of the play by the troupe Theatre will be held today at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Theatre icons Ferdousi Majumder and Ramendu Majumder will be playing key roles in the production, alongside Paresh Acharya, Rashedul Aowal Shawon, Tamanna Islam, Tropa Majumder, Sekanul Islam Shahi and Apon Ahsan.
