STARS LOOK AHEAD TO A BUOYANT 2017
As the pages of the calendar turn over to bring in a new year, we all have new plans, aspirations and determination to start afresh and make it a memorable year. The stars of the showbiz are no different, and The Daily Star caught up with a number of public figures of the entertainment industry to know what they are thinking of 2017.
Ferdous, actor
New Year means new demands and expectations. As I'm a part of the film industry, and my dreams are naturally intertwined with the industry. I wish Dhaka cinema's further success in 2017. As the audiences have a hunger for films, more quality movies are needed for this. I'm expecting to sign few watch-worthy films in the year. As for our country as a whole, I hope for a year of peace and prosperity.
Purnima, actor
Like others, I have some expectations from 2017. My New Year resolution is to adhere to good works. I want to do work regularly but quality will be my first concern in this regard. I also want everyone's prosperity and peace besides the country and its cultural industry.
Chanchal Chowdhury, actor
I expect no sad news from the New Year. As 2016 was a successful year for me, I dream to deliver more good productions in 2017. And I want to do work targeting the goal. Finally, I hope that the country and its people will be in peace.
Liza, singer
As I'm a singer, I can't think anything else without music in my life, and it is my dream and expectation whatever you can say. My resolution is to win people's hearts through music. As a citizen of an independent country I wish its welfare and prosperity.
Luipa, singer
I would like to entertain the music lovers with some good songs and perform more stage shows in 2017.
