“Lakho Konthe Bidrohi Kobita” on May 1
To uphold the significance of Nazrul's rebellious poems and the cultural boost they lent to revolutionary movements, Bashori, an institute dedicated to Nazrul practices, has taken an initiative to organise “Lakho Konthe Bidrohi Kobita” on May 1. The event will take place at the southern plaza of Sangshad Bhaban.
A press conference in this regard was held on March 12 at the capital's Lalmatia at the organisation premises. Representatives of the institute said in keeping with the organisational practices, the event will aim at spreading awareness of Nazrul's works among the general public. Word of the event has spread to students from various institutes in the country, who have expressed their interest in the event.
Invitations have been sent to Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad and Finance Minister of Bangladesh, and the event aims at gathering five lakh people at the venue recitating Nazrul's poems, organisers said.
Speakers at the press conference included president of Bashori DNG Khaleduzzaman, poet and deputy director of Nazrul Institute Rezauddin Stalin, poet and elocutionist Rezaul Hossain Tito, poet and noted cultural activist Sujon Hajong, singer Moniruzzaman Monir, general secretary of Bashori Zakir Hossain and more.
