I get salami from my mother and mother-in-law
National Film Award winning actor Ferdous will be seen in a number of television programmes during Eid. Though he has not done any films recently, Ferdous-starrer film “Ek Cup Chaa” will see its television premiere on Channel i during Eid. The actor recently talked to Arts & Entertainment about his Eid plans, shopping, favourite iftar dishes and more. Excerpts:
How many programmes have you done for Eid?
Ferdous: I'll be seen in a talk-show on Banglavision along with actress Purnima. Also the audience will see me dancing with Jaya Ahsan in “Anandomela” on BTV. Maasranga Television will air “Antoraley” in which I feature.
What about your Eid shopping?
Ferdous: I've already done my Eid shopping from Kolkata and different markets in the capital. Recently, I went to Sylhet to inaugurate fashion house Deshi Dosh. I received many gifts from them. My daughters have done a lot of shopping for Eid too.
Where will you spend your Eid?
Ferdous: I'm travelling to America with my two daughters since they are on Eid vacation. We'll be there for two weeks, and if my daughters like USA we'll spend Eid there.
Do you have any travel plans within USA?
Ferdous: I'll travel to California, Disneyland and Los Angeles. My sister and her family live in USA, so I'll meet them and spend time together with my daughters.
Do you still get Eid salami?
Ferdous: Only my mother and mother-in-law give me Eid salami, otherwise I give others salami. Since I'll be spending my Eid in USA they have given me Eid salami in advance.
Do your daughters want to be like their father?
Ferdous: I don't think so. My younger daughter doesn't understand showbiz and my elder daughter is divided between being a pilot like her mother or a designer. As for me, I want them to be good human beings.
What is on your usual iftar menu?
Ferdous: I love fruits and fresh juice. I prefer homemade food and try to avoid deep-fried items.
