Udichi to usher in Monsoon today
Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Gosthi is all set to usher in monsoon, considered tthe most romantic season by bangalees, in a programme at Bangla Academy's Nazrul Mancha today.
Starting 7 am, the programme by the Dhaka Metropolitan unit of Udichi will feature songs on monsoon, dance performances, recitation and more. Curtains will rise on the performances with an instrumental recital, followed by choral songs by Bohnishikha and Swapnobeena.
Mahmud Selim, Chhaya Karmakar, Anima Mukti Gomez, BIman Biswas and Mahadeb Ghosh will sing at the event, while Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Belayet Hossain and Dalia Ahmed will recite poems. Spandan will present dance, while a special musical performance “Bihobol Borshay” will be presented by artistes of Udichi. Members of Udichi's Mirpur, Kafrul, Kalyanpur and other units will perform solo and choral songs, while Udichi Central Union's theatre department will stage plays on life in Haors during monsoon.
A special discussion titled “Borshakathan” will also be held at the event, where cultural personalities including Kamal Lohani and Shafiuddin Ahmed will speak.
