Shadhona's “Nupur Beje Jaye” at BNM
To mark the 52nd presentation of their monthly programme “Nupur Beje Jaye”, Shadhona has organised a dance recital celebrating the timeless works of our National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
The event, to be held today at 6:30pm at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum (BNM), will feature both solo and group dance recitals.
Directed by Babulal Chowdhury, artistes of Chintak Dance Group; Anik Basu and his group and choreographed by M.R.Wasek, dancers of Nandan Kalakenda will present dance pieces set on various creations of Kazi Nazrul Islam. Dancers of Kolkata based group Parampara will also perform Bharatanatyam at the event. Rajdeep Banerjee is the choreographer of the piece.
Starting from tomorrow, Shadhona, a Center for Advancement of South Asian Culture, has also arranged a six-day (July 23-28) Bharatanatyam workshop, conducted by Vandana Alase Hazra and Rajdeep Banerjee at Banani, Dhaka.
Rajdeep Banerjee will focus on Bharatanatyam Basics while Vandana Alase Hazra will shed light on Sculpting Dance exploring boundaries in Bharatanatyam as a dance form.
