Nationwide dance competition at Shilpakala Academy
Bangladesh Nritya Shilpi Sangstha (BNSS) and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) have jointly organised a nationwide solo and group dance competition.
Beginning last year, the competition initiated a renaissance among dancers of the country. Veteran dance guru Rahiza Khanam Jhunu inaugurated the competition at the rehearsal room of National Music and Dance Centre of BSA on August 18.
Renowned dancer-choreographer Laila Hasan, Amanul Haque, Golam Mostafa Khan, Belayet Hossain, along with Minu Haque and Mahfuzur Rahman, president and general secretary of BNSS were present among others at the inaugural ceremony.
The final competition will start on August 23 with the participation of contestants emerged out from the nationwide primary selection process. The best 10 dance artistes, declared as “Shera Dosh”, will be awarded on September 3.
Founded in 1978, BNSS is an organisation dedicated to overall benefit nourishment of dancers and artistes in general.
