41st death anniversary of Bangabandhu: Art competition for children
Marking the 41st death anniversary Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a children's painting competition was held at the hall room of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Sangrahashala on August 15.
A total of 123 children from different educational institutions took part in the competition in four groups. Of the participants, 12 were selected for prizes. All the participants will be honoured with prizes and certificates later, said gallery sources.
The judges of the competition were-Mohammad Abdur Rouf, principal of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Fine Arts Institute; and Tapon Kumar Sarker, Assistant Professor of Fine Arts Department of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Trishal of Mymensingh.Konkon Kanti Barua, deputy keeper of the art gallery inaugurated the competition.
Besides, Mymensingh Zila Shilpakala Academy organised a day long programme marking the day. The programmes included a painting competition, poetry recitation and a discussion at its auditorium. Alokchitra Shilpi Sangsad (Ashis) organised a photography exhibition on “Bangabandhu and War of Liberation” at Language Martyred Abdul Jabber auditorium in the town.
Different educational institutions and socio-cultural organisations of the town and outside also held various programmes, including painting competitions.
