Euphoric flute recital at Chhayanaut
It was a treat to the Dhaka music aficionados who enjoyed an event of classical flute recital at the main auditorium of Chhayanaut Sangskriti Bhaban on April 1. Through organising their maiden event, music organisation Aroho set sail in the capital.
“The objective of the programme is to introduce fresh and unknown faces, who are trying to learn pure classical flute music and also trying to bring the positive changes through their musical journey with classical bamboo flute in Bangladesh. We aim to produce solo classical flute performers in the days to come,” asserted Murtuza Kabir Murad, the head of Aroho.
The programme consisted of both group and solo performances. Murtuza Kabir Murad wove a garland of melody while presenting Raagmala that included recital of 13 distinctive ragas. Set on teentaal, the flautist started off with Raga Desh and proceeded on elaborating the melodies of Ragas –Brindavani Sarong, Baijayanti, Yaman, Behag, Jog, Bheempalashree, Bageshree, Ahir Bhairav, Bhairo, Kirwani, Bhairabi and Darbari.
Led by Murtuza Kabir Murad, three group performances of Bhatiali Dhun, Raga Yaman and Pahadi Dhun thoroughly enthralled the audience. Murad's students -- Nishat Afrose, Asif Ahmed Sarja, Musarrat Rahman, Rasedul Islam and Nayrita Nargis played Ragas -- Hansadhwani, Miyan Ki Malher, Bhoopali, Shivranjani and Brindaboni Sarang respectively at the event.
